Pelvic floor weakness is a common problem that affects many people. While some may feel embarrassed about it, it is imperative to recognise that it is a medical concern that requires proper attention. Essentially, pelvic floor weakness refers to a lack of strength or tone in the muscles that support the pelvic organs. This can lead to a range of symptoms, including urinary leaks, difficulty with bladder or bowels, and pelvic pain.

Please note that treatment options for pelvic floor weakness can vary, depending on the underlying cause of the condition. In some cases, lifestyle changes such as exercise and dietary modifications may be sufficient to improve symptoms. For others, more specialised treatments such as pelvic floor physical therapy or surgery may be necessary. Ultimately, it is important to have transparent conversations with healthcare providers about any concerns regarding pelvic floor weakness, as early intervention can help prevent more serious problems down the line.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
After childbirth, it is extremely important to give your body sufficient time to heal before restarting your exercise routine. According to medical experts, it is generally safe to start exercising within four to six weeks after a vaginal birth and six to eight weeks after a caesarean birth. However, it is important to consult with your healthcare provider before starting any form of exercise routine and to listen to your body's signals as you gradually increase your activity levels. Postpartum exercises can not only help improve muscle strength and support weight loss but also enhance overall physical and emotional well-being.
Experiencing leaks while sneezing or running is a common issue for many individuals, particularly women who have given birth or are experiencing menopause. This condition, known as stress urinary incontinence, occurs when the pelvic muscles are weakened and cannot properly support the bladder. Although it can be a little embarrassing, Physiomove London offers various exercise plans tailored to your specific need. Additionally, lifestyle changes such as maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding bladder irritants, and limiting caffeine as well as alcohol intake may also help further reduce these symptoms.
Prolapse is a medical condition where the pelvic organs, such as the uterus or bladder, slip out of their normal position and bulge into the vaginal walls. There are several lifestyle changes that may help alleviate prolapse symptoms, such as pelvic floor exercises, maintaining a healthy body weight, avoiding strain during bowel movements, and quitting smoking. These measures can help strengthen the pelvic muscles, reduce pressure in the abdomen, and improve overall pelvic health. Additionally, using proper lifting techniques, wearing supportive undergarments, and practicing good posture can also decrease the risk of prolapse or prevent its recurrence. The use of pessaries is also recommended which our physiotherapist can provide more advice on.   It is equally important to talk with a healthcare provider to determine the most effective treatment plan for managing prolapse.

I couldn't recommend Nikos Stamos enough. I visited him when I had sharp lower back and glute pain from my scoliosis and he worked very patiently with me to eradicate the pain and work on long-term pain management. Sessions were very enjoyable and I always left the sessions with a smile on my face. Thanks again!

I had an amazing experience that had been transformational in my hip injury recovery journey. Following a car accident, I found my physiotherapy sessions with Heba in addition to her valuable advice and exercise plan a pivotal point in getting back to being active with minimal pain. I found myself going back to see her after giving birth to help with my postnatal recovery and regain my muscle strength. I couldn’t recommend Physiomove more!

I recently had the pleasure of receiving physiotherapy treatment from Heba Massri at the Physiomove clinic in Marylebone street for my stiff neck and jaw muscles. Heba provided exceptional care and expertise that significantly improved my condition. She took the time to thoroughly assess my condition, listen to my concerns, and explain the treatment plan in a way that was easy to understand. I’ve been following Heba’s advice and treatment plan for a week and I have noticed significant improvement in my jaw and neck area! Overall, this had been a very pleasant and positive experience and I would highly recommend this physiotherapy clinic!

The great thing about Nikos is that when he says ‘I can fix this’ he really means it. That is so reassuring. His gentle yet firm approach has been fantastic for me. His knowledge and encouragement always enable me to go one small step further than I thought was possible on every visit, so the progress keeps coming. In order to strengthen and mobilise a weak back from a childhood injury, and then to recover after a rotator cuff tear, Nikos has patiently taught me better posture and awareness, and patiently taken me through and coached me in appropriate exercises. My continuing recovery from both conditions has been vastly improved by Nikos' care and attention and I am immensely grateful to have been recommended to see and be looked after by him.

I've been having lower back and knee pain for some time until I was recommended to see Nikos Stamos by a family member. It has been three months since then and I cannot thank Nikos and team enough for helping me treat my problems. Nikos is hard on you but always has the best in mind for his patients. I truly and wholeheartedly recommend Nikos and team to anyone who is in need of physiotherapy.

I was referred to Physiomove at London Medical with a persistent headache problem that I have had for couple of months. Nikos diagnosed the issue and helped me to understand the causes of it and what I could do to alleviate the pain. I have a significant scoliosis and the pain was caused by this. I was also shown exercises which fit perfectly into my daily routine and which were quick and targeted the problem exactly. A professional, excellent and friendly service that I highly recommend.
