    Pilates reformer exercises are suitable for all individuals. Initially designed for rehabilitation, the method has expanded and for many it has become a lifestyle. With Pilates reformer you don’t just get stronger and flexible. You address muscular imbalances, joint stiffness and joint instability. You learn about body alignment and how to move efficiently. In essence you discover your body and its potential. It can be an excellent approach following or leading to surgery. It can also help you to avoid one, as many of our patients will tell you. Its slow and controlled movement, gives your body the necessary tools to use muscle groups in unison, focusing on movement control, breathing, coordination and posture. In Physiomove, we have seen the benefits of Pilates reformer in rehabilitating our patients and we offer this as part of the treatment or as one to one sessions and classes.

    The Power of Small Classes

    Why Small Groups Make a Big Difference

    With a style unique to our clinic, based on years of experience of rehabilitation spinal and various musculoskeletal pathologies, we have designed our Pilates reformer classes focusing on posture correction, elongation and movement efficiency. In order to be effective, Pilates practice requires attention to technique and body form with close supervision and for this reason the classes are limited to 5 participants. With attention to detail, you will feel changes in your body and posture from the first session.

    The classes are 55 minutes duration and aim to make you feel connected with your body, activate any inhibited muscles, stretch and stabilise stiff joints of your body. It is not just another Pilates class. It is what we aspired to offer to our patients, a safe and effective way of training to help them maintain and continue improving the results of their treatment. You don’t need to be a patient of the clinic to join our Pilates classes, but we recommend you have a physiotherapy assessment before joining them.

    To help you feel comfortable and confident, here’s what you’ll need:

    Wear fitted, breathable clothing that allows for movement, no zips or jewellery please.

    Grip socks are required for hygiene and safety (available to purchase at the clinic)

    Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated

    All equipment is provided — just bring yourself and a positive mindset
